Nevin Adam Garceniego, the young balladeer representing Tropa ni Pablo, was adjudged the grand champion of “The Voice Kids” during the competition's finale night on Sunday, December 15.
Nevin’s winning piece was a moving and powerful version of the OPM classic “May Bukas Pa.”
The 11-year-old grand winner kicked off his finale song using a mellow but soulful approach that kept a dialled-in audience on the edge of their seats– a fitting buildup to an eventual showcase of vocal prowess and staggering range.
His winning purse: one million pesos in cash, a recording and management contract with UMG Philippines, and a brand new house and lot.
In true The Voice franchise fashion, the finale featured four aspirants– each a representative of the four coaches– vying for the title.
Nevin, a Quezon City native, was joined by Sorsoganon Jan Hebron Ecal (Coach Stell’s Stellbound), Cebuano Mark Anthony Punay (Coach Julie’s JulesQuad), and Caviteña Wincess Jem Yana (Coach Billy’s Team Bilib) in the Final Four.
Nevin got into the competition as a two-chair turner during the blind auditions, where he sang Gary Valenciano’s “Natutulog Ba Ang Diyos.”
Both Coach Julie and Coach Pablo turned at the tailend of Nevin’s impressive rendition of the iconic Filipino song about hope.
He went on to make waves in the 2024 edition of The Voice Kids– GMA Network's first time to broadcast the acclaimed singing show for kids.
