Six topnotchers in the 2024 Bar Examinations are aspirants from colleges based in the regions, bannered by third-ranked Gerald Roxas of the Pampanga-based AUF School of Law, as the Supreme Court (SC) released the annually awaited Bar results on Friday.
The list– headlined by the top 20 achievers who garnered the highest scores in the professional licensure test for lawyers– was announced and officiated by Bar Chairperson Associate Justice Mario V. Lopez.
Gerald Roxas, an Angeles University Foundation School of Law alumnus, placed third overall with an 84.355% score, only behind overall topnotcher and University of the Philippines (UP) College of Law graduate Kyle Tutor (85.77%), and Ateneo de Manila School of Law’s Maria Christina Aniceto (85.440%).
Mindanaoans Joji Macadine (University of Mindanao) and Gregorio Jose Torres II (Western Mindanao State University) also impressed with scores of 83.745% and 83.59%, respectively, coming in at eight and ninth place.
John Daniel Hamoy of the University of San Carlos in Cebu, meanwhile, placed 14th overall after obtaining an 83.135% score.
At the 16th spot is Recel Elumba, a proud alumnus of the Jose Rizal Memorial State University, a public institution based in Zamboanga del Norte, after registering 83.065%.
June Steve Barredo, a University of St. La Salle graduate from Bacolod City, also cracked the elite list of top performers after ranking 19th overall with a score of 82.805%.
