Candon City lit up with vibrant colors as the annual Electric Float Parade hit the streets anew, showcasing creative designs inspired by popular cartoon characters and anime.
The parade, part of the city’s Feria de Candon festival, brought excitement to the streets with its dazzling floats.
This year’s theme focused on children, with various cartoon characters and anime designs lighting up the city.
The electric floats were created by different barangays in Candon City.
"We do this electrical float parade to showcase craftsmanship and creativity of Ilokanos at para makilala ang Candon City," Rhoda Abrero, Candon City Tourism Officer, said.
"Masaya ang Feria de Candon ngayong taon," Gloria Gallandes, a visitor, said.
A total of 22 towns from the Second District of Ilocos Sur also participated in the competition, each one showcasing their unique float designs and lighting displays.
Visitors like Patricia Alimpia, who arrived early, were impressed by the parade.
"Kanina pa kami dito [ng] alas kuwatro, nag-aabang, and sulit naman ang panonood ng floats," Alimpia said.
The parade concluded with the float from Sta. Cruz, Ilocos Sur being named champion.
Its design, inspired by the popular Japanese animated series Sailor Moon, stood out as the best of the night.
