Seven of the 12 top performers who made the December 2024 Physical Therapist Licensure Exam’s (PTLE) top ten hail from the regions, bannered by Bacolodnon topnotcher Raymund Carlo Masbaño of Bacolod City-based Riverside College.
Masbaño garnered a rating of 90.55% to emerge as the exam’s overall top performer, as per the released results of the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on Tuesday, December 10.
Aside from the Bacolod City native, seven other aspirants hailing from the regions ranked high in the exam, with Andrei Daylan Villaruz of Saint Paul University-Iloilo placing second overall (90.40%).
Cebu Doctors University’s (CDU) Lhouise Lucero placed fourth with an exam rating of 89.70%.
Rounding out the top ten were Gabriel Glenn Colmenares (San Pedro College-Davao City) in seventh place, Albert John Micosa (De La Salle Medical & Health Sciences Institute, Cavite) in eighth place, and Kenneth Andres (Southwestern University) and John Eduard Domael (Velez College)– both from Cebu City– sharing the tenth spot.
TOP-PERFORMING INSTITUTIONS (50 or more examinees; at least 90% passing rate)
Of the 81 educational institutions nationwide who fielded students in the December 2024 PTLE, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) reigned supreme with a virtually perfect contingent passing rate of 99.44%, seeing all but one of its 179 takers overcome the exam.
University of Santo Tomas (UST) came in second with 118/121 successful aspirants good for a 97.52% passing percentage, while CDU placed third as 56 of its 60 takers passed the exam for a 93.33% success rate.
PRC announced that 1,206 out of 1,700 examinees passed the exams for a national passing rate of 70.94%, higher than that of the June 2024 edition of the PTLE (63.63%).
