All four universities in Dumaguete City in the Province of Negros Oriental attained a 100-percent passing rate in the November 2024 Philippine Nursing Licensure Examination (PNLE). 

These four schools are Silliman University (SU), Foundation University (FU), Negros Oriental State University (NORSU), and St. Paul University Dumaguete (SPUD). 

Silliman University graduate Czar Hannah Beliña ranked Number 9 in the Top 10 roster with a rating of 90.80 percent. 

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) also listed SU, SPUD, and NORSU to be among the top-performing schools in the country as reflected in the exam. 

SPUD produced the most number of new nurses at  136, followed by SU with 83, NORSU with 68, and FU with 34. 

SPUD takes pride to have held anew the highest number of takers and passers  in the City of Dumaguete and in the entire province of Negros Oriental.  

“We celebrate 13 consecutive examinations of a 100% passing rate and 3 (three) straight years as the Top 1 Performing School in the Philippines,” SPUD said via its official social media account. 

Silliman University College of Nursing (SUCN) produced 83 newly licensed nurses and achieved a 100-percent passing rate. 

“Ranked 1st among nursing schools with 50-99 examinees through this performance, SUCN further produced a topnotcher as recognized by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC),” SU announced on its page. 

“Czar Hannah Beliña secured 9th place with an impressive 90.80% rating. Meanwhile, according to the PRC, 29,349 out of 34,534 examinees passed the examination,” SU added. 

Further, NORSU ranked among the top-performing schools with 50 to 99 examinees. 

"All 68 NORSU examinees, who were first-time takers, passed the exam, achieving an overall 100-percent passing rate," according to a report by school publication, The NORSUnian, correspondent Mel Antonette Amorin. 

As for FU College of Nursing, it once again achieved 100 percent with all 34 being first-time takers.  

“This remarkable accomplishment underscores our ongoing commitment to providing the highest standards of nursing education and shaping the FUture of our next generation of healthcare leaders,” FU said via its official social media account.

“The administration, led by President Victor Vicente “Dean” Sinco, the College of Nursing family, and the entire Foundation University community, celebrate this milestone.  This is as a testament to our dedication to academic excellence, clinical expertise, and student success,” FU accentuated. 

The Dumaguete City Tourism Office in a greeting post wished the new nurses to serve well.

“Congratulations to our new nurses! May you serve our country and the world well with the Dumaguete brand of excellent health care," the tourism office said.
