It has been five years since “Hello, Love, Goodbye,” the first movie top-billed by the Alden Richards-Kathryn Bernardo tandem, took the Philippine film industry by storm by becoming the highest-grossing local movie in history (overtaken by DongYan’s “Rewind” in 2023).

With the way “Hello, Love, Again” has been reportedly raking sales since its November 12 premiere, it seems as though Alden, Kathryn, Direk Cathy Garcia-Sampana, and the rest of the crew have their eyes realistically set on surpassing their prequel’s numbers, and are very well en route to becoming another hyper-successful hit in the box office.

Here’s a brief overview of how the two KathDen movies compare during their first three days on the big screen.

On November 13, 2024, HLA set a new record for having the highest-grossing sales for a local film on its opening day as it “racks up a jaw-dropping P85 million on its opening day,” GMA Pictures duly confirmed through its Instagram post.

How did "Hello, Love, Goodbye" perform on opening day in 2019? HLG reportedly scored over P34 million during on its debut.

Just a little over 24 hours later, “Hello, Love, Again” made headlines once more when it claimed another jaw-dropping feat, cruising to a reported P155 million on its second day.

On the morning of November 16, three days after its big screen debut, GMA News Online published a report saying that HLA had garnered a whopping P245 million where the "Alden Richards and Kathryn Bernardo-starrer recorded sales in 726 local cinemas.”

In comparison, media outlets reported in 2019 that the prequel “Hello, Love, Goodbye” registered P110 million in sales after three days of showing.

These are all but running numbers that serve as a mere reference, but at the rate by which this movie is receiving positive reviews left, right, and center, it will only be a matter of time before “Hello, Love, Again,” again, breaks monumental records in Philippine cinema history.
