Great news, “Pulang Araw” enjoyers and history nerds!
War-drama series “Pulang Araw,” originally slated as a 100-episode series, has been extended for two more weeks!
“Pulang Araw” writer Suzette Doctolero took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce the good news.
"Two weeks extended ang [Pulang Araw]. 110 eps. Salamat sa mga nananonood nito," she wrote.
The highly acclaimed war-drama is a Dominic Zapata-directed masterpiece top-billed by four of the biggest Kapuso stars today: Asia's Multimedia Star Alden Richards. Kapuso Primetime Princess Barbie Forteza, First Lady of Primetime Sanya Lopez, and Pambansang Ginoo David Licauco.
It also features the special participation of Kapuso Drama King Dennis Trillo who plays the role of a villainous Japanese soldier named Col. Yuta Saitoh in his first major anti-hero assignment.
“Pulang Araw” explores a fictional portrayal of the lived realities of Filipinos during the Japanese Occupation through the dynamic lives of four childhood friends who are led to separate but interwoven journeys towards hope, liberation, and self-reflection.
The series made its digital platform debut on Netflix on July 26 and its television premiere last July 29.
“Pulang Araw” airs from Monday to Friday on GMA Prime at 8 p.m., and is also available via Netflix.
