Christmas is in the air in Tarlac, the "Belen Capital of the Philippines," as giant, colorful belens adorn its streets anew for the holidays.
Just weeks to Christmas Day, the city kicked off its annual Belenismo celebration, showcasing 72 stunning nativity scenes made from recycled and indigenous materials.
The giant belens feature the traditional figures of Jose, Maria, and Jesus, and have been created by various towns, schools, churches, businesses, and communities.
Organizers said Belenismo highlights both the religious significance of Christmas and the province’s rich cultural heritage, making it a true symbol of the holiday season.
