Since 2022, medical TV drama “Abot Kamay na Pangarap” has drawn massive attention from avid viewers because of its relatable notes and moving storyline, fronted by protagonist Jillian Ward’s great act.
But all good things must come to an end.
The Afternoon Prime offering will air for the final time on October 19, putting an end to its two-year run that has spanned more than 650 episodes.
During its finale media conference held last October 2, the star-studded cast and the show’s production team were present, as they were joined by a few GMA Executives, members of the press, and somme content creators.
The afternoon drama’s powerhouse cast in attendance– Jilian Ward, Carmina Villaroel, Richard Yap, Andre Paras, Pinky Amador, Kazel Kinouchi, Dina Bonnevie, Allen Dizon, Wilma Doesnt, Chuckie Dreyfus, John Vic De Guzman, Jeff Moses, and Kim Ji Soo– were heavy with emotions as some were even left teary-eyed while addressing questions from the press.
The top-rating Kapuso show features the life of Doc Analyn (Jillian Ward), a giftedly brilliant and personable protagonist who becomes the youngest doctor in her town. Through ups and downs, she and her mother Lyneth (Carmina Villaroel) embarks on a hopeful journey, until Doc Analyn pursues her discovery of her biological father.
The plot thickens when her story entangles with Zoey (Kazel Kinouchi), her strong-willed step-sister who plays the primary antagonistic role because of the brewing competition between her and Doc Analyn.
According to a report by Jade Yap of GMA News Online, the Abot-Kamay na Pangarap stars have grown close to each other after more than two years of production, even going to Japan for the Holidays together.
The L.A. Madrilejos-directed drama is a product of the GMA Entertainment Group headed by its Senior Vice President Lilybeth Rasonable, and a creative team led by Aloy Adlawan.
“Abot-Kamay Na Pangarap” airs Mondays to Saturdays at 2:30 p.m.
