Eyes on the board, errmmm…on the interactive wall.

Will everyone please lend your ears to our Astronomy specialist - Mr. Gil Miguel Falloria.

Netizens find the Grade 1 pupil adorable as he elucidates on the solar system using an interactive playboard, similar to a pro.

Gil is a student of the University of San Agustin Basic Education Department. In a viral video, he played seemingly the role of a teacher with his impressive knowledge of the solar system.

According to the Elementary Education academic supervisor of the said school, she is also amazed at the ability of the child to explain scientific knowledge, information, and processes.

Such brilliance of a student in his formative years was highlighted during a Science Fair set in the first week of October 2024.

“We were amazed to know he can mention the figures sang mga how far ang distance, pila ang light years. Gagamit pa siya acronym nga AU or astronomical unit or LY or light years,” Eljean Demerin, the academic supervisor, said.

Gil, a resident of Pavia town in the Province of Iloilo, did a presentation about planets, fast facts about the moon, and other scientific concepts to the news team as a "sampler" of his proficiency.

According to Gil, or “Miggy” to his family, he was four years old when he started to feel a love of Science.

During his free time, he would read books and watch educational videos.

“When my class is finished I sometimes go to the library to learn more and more, like [body] organs. Science is my favorite. So I’m gonna be a mechanical engineer. I like studying elements of the periodic table, too,” Gil said to GMA Regional TV One Western Visayas.

His father, Raymund, said his son’s enthusiasm for the sciences also surprised him.

They did not do anything special or extraordinary in Gil’s – or Miggy’s – activities as a toddler, he added, so they find it amazing at how adept he is at scientific concepts.

“Sang three years old pa pa lang siya, na-observe namon nga maka-recite na siya sang alphabet nga pabaliskad bala. Tapos maka-extraordinary nga mabal-an niya ang Russian alphabet (Noong three years old pa lang siya, na-observe namin na makaka-recite na siya ng alphabet na pabaliktad. Tapos maka-extraordinary na alam niya ang Russian alphabet,” Raymund further said.

Gil's Science teacher who is also the principal of the said school confirmed that Miggy cites true facts or generally accepted, standard reference.

“He’s always drawing things about Science especially planets, and some of the high school students also were saying that he is often explaining to them about the solar system,” said Claudette Paracale, principal of the University of San Agustin Basic Education Department.

Paracale added that it is both her pride and pleasure to mentor an inquisitive, gifted child like Miggy and vowed that the school will be supportive to Miggy’s academic growth leading to the honing of his full potential.
