A stunning display of local fashion and culture took center stage at the Metropolitan Theater where Kapampangan designers showcased their unique ‘Pidayit’ gowns proudly.

The method of 'Pidayit' involves piecing together colorful fabric scraps to create a unique and striking design.

"Ipapakita natin ang galing ng mga Kapampangan… ang Pidayit [ay] ipinagmamalaki ng Pampanga. Para ipakita natin ang talento natin — and of course what we can show and contribute to arts and culture," Philip Torres, a Kapampangan designer, said.

The Pidayit gowns, inspired by the work of renowned Filipino painter Fabian Dela Rosa, highlighted both beauty and local artistry.

Models walked the runway to the song “Paruparong Bukid,” wearing the intricate creations.

In addition to the runway show, the event also featured a multimedia production, celebrating different eras of Philippine history.

Over 20 Filipino designers, including Torres, participated, with the support of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts.

For Torres, the gala was an important platform to prove that Kapampangan designers can compete on a national level in the world of fashion and art.
