Fishermen in Bangui, Ilocos Norte celebrated a rare bounty on September 10, 2024 when they caught a large haul of mackerel tuna, or “dumadara" in Ilocano.
Local fishermen hauled in an impressive catch of over 500 kilograms of fish.
This sizable catch comes as a welcome surprise, especially since it’s the largest haul they’ve seen since #EntengPH.
The fishermen expressed their gratitude for this blessing, noting that it’s been a while since they’ve experienced such a plentiful catch. The tuna, a favorite grilled dish in Ilocos Norte, was quickly sold due to high demand.
The exceptional catch has brought relief and excitement to the local fishing community, marking a bright spot in the aftermath of the recent storm.
