The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) in Sorsogon successfully released 77 green sea turtle hatchlings into the ocean off the coast of Prieto Diaz, Sorsogon.
Residents first spotted a sea turtle laying eggs on the shore, which prompted them to immediately report the sighting to authorities.
The DENR-Sorsogon responded quickly by protecting the nesting site until the eggs hatched.
Authorities remind the public to not disturb sea turtles, especially those laying eggs. Instead, report the sighting to authorities for proper action.
