Barangay tanods in Ilocos Norte showcased their skills in different areas of their work in the first Tanod Olympics organized by the Ilocos Norte Provincial Police Office.

The Tanod Olympics featured various competitions designed to improve the capabilities of barangay watchmen, who serve as frontline peacekeepers in their communities.

Tanods also serve as force multipliers of the police.

Participants showcased their skills in several events, including arresting techniques, arnis (Filipino martial art) exhibitions, water bucket relays, bandaging relays, and transport and carry relays.

The primary goal of the Tanod Olympics was to provide additional training and experience for barangay watchmen, equipping them with the necessary skills to perform their duties effectively.
