A van driver in Caramoran, Catanduanes earned the admiration of netizens for returning a large sum of money he found in his vehicle.

The driver, Benigno Oclarino, found a bundle of cash amounting to P50,000 beside the seat in his van. He found the money after he parked his vehicle.

Without hesitation, Oclarino turned the money over to their operator who, in turn, traced the passenger.

"Siyempre malaking pera, ang ano ko run, karma diba, saka nakakaawa baka hindi naman sa kanya yun, eh, kaya talagang ibabalik ko talaga," Oclarino said.

They found out later that the money belonged to the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Council of Sitio Palumbanes, Barangay Toytoy, Caramoran. The SK treasurer claimed the money personally from Oclarino. The money was reportedly left accidentally in the van.

Oclarino's act of honesty was met with gratitude from the SK Council.

"Kay kuya, first of all thank you, thank you so much kuya sa paghold ng integrity at honesty sayong sarili, talagang isa kang image ng mabuting tao," Anthony Sales, the SK Treasurer, said.
