A 99-year-old resident of Sto. Domingo, Albay caught the attention of the crowd when she walked as Reyna Emperatriz during the Santacruzan in Legazpi City.
It was not the first time, however, that Ester Del Rosario stole the spotlight. In 1947, she was crowned Princess of Peñafrancia Festival.
She was born on April 26, 1925.
"Maogmang maogma dahil narumduman ako kan bilog na Albay, dae ako nagpinsar na magin arug ako kaini, kaya po salamat," Del Rosario said.
She has maintained her good health through a healthy diet and regular exercise.
Her granddaughter, Rizza, said Ester remains active, especially in ballroom dancing.
"Actually, she's taking good care of her health, yung food niya, yung intake niya, nag-exercise pa siya saka nagbo-ballroom," Rizza said.
Aside from Ester, many other Albayana beauties graced the event, alongside appearances from beauty queens and celebrities.
"Ito talaga ang highlight sa lahat ng mga reynang nandito. Imagine magayunon po an saiyang presensya, more than siguro mga National Beauty Queens, iba talaga si lola," Vice Governor Glenda Ong-Bongao said.
