Dingdong Dantes finally breaks his silence regarding the circulating rumor that he impregnated former co-actress Lindsay De Vera, clarifying on the May 9 episode of “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” that he was prompted to speak about the matter in order to fulfill his “responsibility” to his loved ones.

“Once and for all, I am clarifying na hindi siya totoo,” said the Kapuso Primetime King during his conversation with Abunda.

During the interview, the acclaimed talk show host prefaced the topic with an apology and a brief contextualization of the controversy, before finally dropping the question and giving Dantes the platform to answer.

The box office superstar’s response was straight and sharp as an arrow: “It is not true.”

Dantes, however, put context behind his choice to break his silence. He said he initially had second thoughts as to whether or not he would accommodate questions about a controversy that resurfaced recently since first making rounds online some three years ago. 

“Sa totoo lang nagdalawang isip talaga ako kagabi kung may sasabihin ba ako about sa topic na ito… may mga tumatawag na po sa aking mga kaibigan at kamag-anak, mga nagmamalasakit sa akin. And because I have a responsibility sa aking mga mahal sa buhay, responsibilidad ko na klaruhin ang isyu na ito dahil mahalaga ang aspeto na ito para sa akin,” said the box office king.

“I have a responsibility sa aking pamilya, to clear things like this. I love my wife, my family very much, my kids – that’s why I am saying it is not true,” he added.

The 43-year-old actor and host also mentioned how he and his wife, Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera, would laugh about the issue, but it has come to a point where people, especially their friends and family, would bring it up due to some social media posts that recently went viral.

Bringing further context, Abunda noted the fact that former Kapuso actress Lindsay De Vera already debunked the rumor, “She already had denied this story.”

Dingdong, meanwhile, chose not to speculate on the possible reasons as to why these rumors have again made the rounds online, and exuded a seemingly positive mood in saying that he’s okay making the clarification.

“I think I am okay that I cleared it dahil kailangan po talaga, mahal ko ang pamilya ko kaya mahalaga na klaro ang mga bagay na ganito,” he concluded.

In 2021, rumors went viral that Dingdong Dantes impregnated his “Alyas Robinhood” co-star Lindsay De Vera, which was immediately denied by the latter. Even Marian Rivera, Dantes’ beloved wife, only brushed the issue under the rug and laughed it out.
