On April 6, 2024, GMA-7 and ABS-CBN, two of the biggest and most influential media companies in the country, turned into reality what could be one of the biggest collaborations in Philippine television history as It's Showtime made its debut on GMA 7, garnering an aggregate viewership rating of 9.6% (Nielsen Philippines NUTAM Rating) and trending first on social media nationwide.

Meanwhile, netizens also showed their overflowing love and support as #ShowtimeSanibPwersa was the number one trending topic on X (formerly Twitter) on the afternoon of April 6, while #MadlangFilipinas and 'Martin Javier' also made it to the nationwide trending list.

EXPLOSIVE OPENING NUMBER

While Unkabogable Star Vice Ganda's extravagant performance was the highlight during the show's opening salvo, the hosts of "It's Showtime" also brought their respective A-games on the Showtime stage.

Anne Curtis commenced the show with a birit-filled rendition of "Power" by Little Mix, in true Anne Curtis fashion. Her grand performance was the only fitting opening number as her unstoppable onstage energy and charisma definitely caught the attention of all the Madlang Kapuso.

Karylle followed with a versatile act that showcased her rapping skills. Still singing Little Mix’s hit song, Karylle never let go of that explosive energy Anne Curtis brought - in fact she added even more flavor to the rendition and turned it into a total package kind of performance.

Kim Chiu’s high spirits and energetic aura were put to brilliant use with an aerial performance like no other. The Chinita Princess also showed off her dance moves with a number that hyped the Madlang Kapuso crowd.

Amy Perez, Cianne Dominguez, and Jackie Gonzaga took the dance number to the next level as they danced to the bleachers and went dance mob mode with an animated live audience.

The iconic duo of Jugs and Teddy rocked the world with a rock-solid performance of "Let Me Entertain You" by Robbie Williams, made even more ecstatic by MC, Lassy, Ryan Bang, and Ion Perez grooving to the music.

True OPM icon Ogie Alcasid and The Voice Kids standout Darren Espanto sang their hearts out and showcased their vocal talent with a great song number.

Meanwhile, ‘Streetboys’ Jhong Hilario and Vhong Navarro owned the stage and turned it into their dance floor, showing off their vintage moves and groovy breakdancing.

And of course, Meme Vice Ganda made sure to let all the Madlang Kapuso feel the grand entrance of “It’s Showtime” to GMA as she concluded the opening number with a banger four-song performance, which featured her seemingly sitting atop the iconic GMA Network signage.

KAPUSO STARS IN THE HOUSE

A number of Kapuso stars graced the Showtime stage and brought all the fun and good vibes for the Madlang Kapuso.

Sparkle’s very own Sanya Lopez, Gabbi Garcia, Jillian Ward, Mikee Quintos, Glaiza de Castro, Nadine Samonte, Jhake Vargas, and Chanty Videla, together with Kapuso balladeers Mark Bautista and Christian Bautista guested on the noontime show’s “Karaokids” segment.

Meanwhile, Miss Universe Philippines 2023 Michelle Marquez Dee was the surprise guest on “It’s Showtime’s” EXpecially For You, an amusing segment that allows a guest to try their fortunes in looking for a match – but with a twist: their ex-lover will join them onstage as the guest tries to pick a love interest, or date, among three candidates.

MMD was accompanied by her mother, former beauty queen Melanie Marquez, during her special guest appearance on the segment, where the Sparkle star revealed that her most recent relationship was in 2020.

Remarkably, NCAA mainstay and Kapuso host Martin Javier appeared on the segment as one of the choices for MMD.
