Part of being limitless is the ability to punch through the noise and fend off any form of pressure. As for “Asia’s Limitless Star” Julie Anne San Jose, she makes sure that her love for the craft remains a stronger incentive than any distraction that comes her way.

“I don’t feel any pressure right now,” quipped the 29-year-old Kapuso homegrown, fresh from her contract renewal with GMA Network on March 12, 2024.

UNBOTHERED AND UNPRESSURED

In an interview with GMA Regional TV News, Julie Anne shared how she’s able to manage the high expectations that come with being an award-winning multi-hyphenate.

“Yung pressure na yon, ginagamit ko siya as motivation, hindi ko siya iniinstill sa akin. Pag nagkakaroon ako ng ganung thoughts, I shrug it off,” revealed the ‘Queendom’ diva.

What matters more to Julie Anne is her conviction to improve her game and the passion for her craft she so treasures.

“Lagi kong iniisip at tinatandaan palagi na ano yung gusto kong gawin, ito yung mahal kong gawin - mahal ko yung job ko, mahal ko yung craft ko. Feel ko yung pressure, ‘pag minsan na ganun yung nararamdaman, hindi ko siya iniisip, kasi nag-rereflect sya sa aura at sa trabaho ko. So I don't let it affect me,” she said.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR JULIE ANNE

The multi-awarded artist has already flexed her versatility throughout an impressive entertainment career that spans 18 years - all of which spent as a Kapuso artist - as she continues to excel in virtually everything she’s done.

At 29, she is still hungry for more.

“Nako marami pa akong gustong gawin. Gusto ko mag-collab with different artists, feel ko mag-grow ako from them, marami akong matututunan from them. I want to do more concerts, write more music, and try theater - hopefully one day,” said Julie Anne when asked what she wants to do next.

“Gusto ko magkaroin ulit ng series. Pero yung medyo out-of-the-box naman, not the usual roles. I wanna try challenging characters, yung mga di ko pa nagagawa,” she added.

FAVORITE KAPUSO PROJECTS

Though hand picking from a long list of projects can be quite a task, the “Limitless Star” was quick in enumerating her favorite projects thus far.

“Limitless” concert series kasi dun ko nakilala yung sarili ko, dun ko narealize na there's more to life and there's more to love. Mas naging bukas ako as a person, di lang as an artist,” Julie said.

Her favorite shows, meanwhile, are talent-variety competitions “The Clash,” and “The Voice.”

“‘The Clash’ kasi yun yung first ever hosting stint sa akin, na malapit talaga sa puso ko, as a clash master nasusundan ko yung journey ng iba’t-ibang aspiring singers and artists. Nakakatuwa lang na andaming talented na Filipinos. ‘The Voice,’ I got to be a coach, a mentor - I am forever grateful for it,” she added.

Her favorite show: GMA Public Affairs’ “Maria Clara at Ibarra.”

“‘Maria Clara at Ibarra’ changed my life. Maraming-maraming bagay ang naituro sa akin ng Maria Clara. Hindi lang sa education, (specially) sa life, like how to deal with different challenges. It made me feel more empowered as a woman,” said Julie Anne.
