From 18 images in 2018, a collection of religious images aimed at showcasing the rich religious heritage of Ibaan, Batangas has grown to 35.

The images are on exhibit at the Pilgrims' Center within the Archdiocesan Shrine and Parish of St. James the Greater.

Some of the featured images include La Pieta, Tres Caidas, and the Last Supper.

The life-sized images serve as focal points for prayer and reflection, embodying the intercessory role of saints in the Catholic faith.

"Ipinararating namin ang message namin para tulungan niya kami na makarating kay Jesus ang aming mga panalangin," Chita Aguillera, a visitor, said.

"Habang nagdarasal edi parang naluwag ang kalooban. Pakiramdam mo masaya na, nagaan kumbaga," Amy de Castro, another visitor, added.

The images come from various families in the town. Some of these images are centuries old.

The life-sized depictions aim to bring to life the events during the time of Jesus Christ, and inspire individuals to delve into the Bible.

"Sa pagkakita nila sa mga santong ito, dadagdagan nila na magbasa ng Biblia para maunawaan nila [kung] sino ang santong ito [at] ano ang kalahalagahan niya sa buhay ni Kristo," Rev. Fr. Allen Cartagena, OSJ, Rector & Parish Priest of the Archdiocesan Shrine and Parish of St. James the Greater, said.

The exhibit also features images of apostles considered close to the Virgin Mary.

"Nasaksihan din nila 'yung paghihimala ni Kristo. Kaya kung si Maria po ay itinuturing nating pinakaunang alagad ni Hesus, marahil sila po ay masasabi nating alagad ni Maria dahil si Maria mismo ang kasa-kasama nila," Cartegena added.

The exhibition will run until March 23, 2024, and is open to the public from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m..
