For the first time, every family in San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte, received a Noche Buena package from the local government.
This initiative was part of the celebration of the town’s fiesta.
San Nicolas Mayor Mike Hernando said in a Facebook post that each family was given a Noche Buena package worth P1,000.
At least P11.7 million was allocated for the project, approved by the Sangguniang Bayan, and supported by the department heads and employees of the local government.
The families who benefited from the program were identified based on a list provided by the barangays, especially those affected by Typhoon Egay.
The distribution was led by Vice-Mayor Pol Hernando and other members of the Sangguniang Bayan, covering all 24 barangays in the town.
The distribution of Noche Buena packages is considered a fulfillment of the dreams of the previous administration under the #SapasapAPanagserbi (Service Beyond Expectations) program for the residents.
