Cauayan City residents in Isabela got a hands-on experience with Chinese calligraphy as part of the Lunar New Year celebration.
Chinese calligraphy is an important cultural art form that uses artistic strokes to express ideas.
It became practiced widely during the Han Dynasty, using fluid strokes, dots, and lines to form characters.
These characters, known as ideograms, carry deep meanings.
Participants learned basic strokes, including the character "Yong," which means "eternity" and consists of eight strokes and dots.
Students used traditional materials such as brushes, paper, ink sticks, and ink stones during the workshop.
