At least eight temporary lockup cells of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) 6 are prepared for the celebration of “Dinagyang Festival 2025.”
BJMP 6 gears up for possible requests from the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) for the Dinagyang festivity set on January 26, 2025.
Atty. Juniven Rey Umadhay, spokesperson of BJMP 6 in an interview with GMA Super Radyo Cebu, said that ICPO requests for temporary lockup cells yearly for persons who disrupt peace and order during the celebration. Among these are persons under the influence of liquor who spark troubles.
In 2024, at least five temporary lockup cells were provided as BJMP 6’s assistance to ICPO.
