The local government of Davao City has started giving Christmas grocery packs to lumad communities in the city.

The sacks of grocery packs were delivered to each lumad family in 92 barangays.

Inside the grocery packs are basic needs like rice, coffee, milk, sugar, and canned goods.

So, mao na siya ang intended for one IP family,” Jan Erwin Susbrado of the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) said.

The indigenous peoples mandatory representative and the deputy mayor of a tribe will prove that the beneficiary belongs to the IP community.

Around 72,000 lumad families are expected to undergo capability building and receive grocery packs.

The local government is also set to give grocery packs to sectoral groups, including senior citizens, persons with disability (PWD), among others.
