Over 200 students from Lada Elementary School in Brooke’s Point, Palawan, benefited from various social services during a Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) community outreach program.
The outreach took place on November 13, 2024.
Jail Officer Niño Marco Dadores, the Community Relations Service Officer, said the activity aligns with the Bagong Pilipinas initiative, aiming to bring government services closer to communities, particularly in vulnerable areas.
The program included activities such as "Brigada Pagbasa" (reading sessions), "Sopas on Wheels" (food distribution), "Bayanihan Para sa Paaralan" (school support), and storytelling sessions.
Criminology interns from Palawan State University played a key role in making the event a success.
The school administration expressed deep gratitude to the BJMP and commended their efforts as agents of change in society.
BJMP officials highlighted the program as part of their commitment to promoting safer, progressive communities and fostering partnerships to support education and environmental protection.
