Wires hanging on the national highway in Barangay Anolid, Mangaldan, Pangasinan are raising safety concerns as they now reach the ground, endangering passersby.

The wires, which were left dangling, have been tied to a fence to prevent them from touching the road.

However, this temporary solution is still hazardous for people traveling through the area, like Eddie Bautista, a truck porter from Dagupan City.

"Dapat ayusin 'yan. Para di nakakatakot. Makakadisgrasya pa," he said.

Barangay officials suspect the wires were damaged by strong winds from recent storms.

Barangay Chairperson Marissa Honsayco assured residents that the issue would be addressed.

"Iku-coordinate ko agad sa aming maintenance officer at sa aking kagawad na in-charge sa infrastructure at saka sa mga wirings po para walang aksidente na mangyari po," Honsayco said.

The barangay will also coordinate with telecommunications companies to identify the owners of the hanging wires.

"Isasangguni ko pa rin sa kanila para magawan ng aksyon," Honsayco added.

The barangay assured that ensuring the safety of both residents and travelers is their top priority.
