Volleys of fire warmed up once more the memories that made Al Cinco de Noviembre (November 5) an important day in Bago City, Negros Occidental.
Huge floats, cultural presentation, fancy drill competition – these all make the commemoration significant. But the highlight of the anniversary is the presence of the current generation deemed on throwback mode, learning and relearning the history of Negros Occidental.
Volleys of fire from a cannon are the most awaited part of the commemoration because the cannon speaks at full volume the victory of Negrense revolutionaries over Spanish colonial rule 126 years ago.
A wreath-laying ceremony was held at the tomb of revolutionary leader, General Juan Araneta and other war heroes.
