All systems go at Carreta Catholic Cemetery in Cebu City for the observance of “Kalag-Kalag 2024.”

Help desks of the police and the Cebu City local government unit are mounted on October 30, 2024 at Carreta Catholic Cemetery that is managed by the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral and the Sto. Rosario Parish.

According to the management, the cemetery has become a resting place to about 10,000 persons. Inside the cemetery is the tomb dedicated to Spanish nationals called “Asociacion Benefica Española de Cebu.” This is a section of the cemetery intended for Spanish-Filipino families in Cebu City.

Inspection and monitoring in the cemetery have been carried out continually by police personnel and force multipliers.

The public is reminded to follow the rules and regulations at the cemetery to ensure order, safety, and security in the observance of All Saints Day and All Souls Day.

Liquor or drinking of alcoholic beverages, gambling, and videoke are prohibited strictly in the cemetery.

In addition, overnight stay at the cemetery is banned.
