About 6,530 mangrove propagules were planted on Friday, October 18, 2024 in Barangay Li-O, Romblon.

The joint effort was led by the Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO) and the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO).

The activity focused on rehabilitating mangroves and establishing a coastal green belt zone.

"[The initiative] aims to protect Romblon’s coastal ecosystems, enhance biodiversity, and mitigate the effects of climate change," Coast Guard Station (CGS) Romblon said.

Various local groups, including the Philippine National Police (PNP), operation control units of CGS Romblon, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BFMP), and local government officials, also joined the activity to show their support for a greener future.
