The Basilica Minore del Santo Niño de Cebu implements a Dress Code Policy to uphold the sanctity and reverence of the place, according the Augustinian Fathers of the Basilica in a post.
"Visitors must dress appropriately for worship, as the Basilica will no longer provide shawls. Those not meeting the dress code or with shawls rented outside will be denied entry," the policy stated.
"This policy is part of a broader effort to align with practices observed at other churches and shrines both locally and internationally. The Basilica Community appreciates the understanding and cooperation of all visitors as we implement these changes," the post added.
The implementation started on October 1, 2024.
