Christmas lanters are starting to light the way to Christmas on Caranglaan Road in Dagupan City.

As early as September 1, 2024, Christmas lanterns in various colors and sizes have been on display.

This area has become a bustling marketplace for both Capiz-made lanterns and LED-lit designs.

With the holiday season approaching, vendors report an increase in sales.

“Maganda talaga, at saka mas maganda mamili ng maaga para ma-feel pa ang Christmas,” Nelia Patani, a Christmas lantern seller, said.

Shoppers are particularly drawn to new designs, including star-shaped lanterns and reindeer made of LED lights.

For those looking to save, repair services are also available for old lanterns, replacing burned-out bulbs or LED lights to make them look brand new again.

"Pinapalitan namin para babalik ‘yung dati niyang ganda," Greg Patani said, who repairs lanterns.

The price of lanterns in the area ranges from P800 to P5,000, depending on size and design.
