Barangay officials in Bued, Calasiao, Pangasinan, are dealing with two growing issues: the rise of unlicensed food vendors and illegal drag racing along the bypass road at night.

According to Barangay Councilwoman Pacita Calimlim, the food vendors are operating without proper permits, raising concerns about safety.

“Food poison… sino haharap? Eh di kami na barangay official... Kaya ang problema namin diyan ‘yung mga ‘yan,” she said.

Calimlim said leftover food might be reheated and resold, potentially causing health risks.

Residents also raised complaints about the noise from drag racing.

“Nagtitinda ng mga turo-turo, minsan may nagkakarera ng motor. Pag gabi naman mga nakakotse nangangarera, meron nga may sumadsad,” a resident said.

To address these concerns, barangay officials plan to install closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras and have increased patrols in the area during nighttime.

Authorities are reminding both vendors and visitors to dispose of their trash responsibly.
