Over 120 sacks of trash were collected during a coastal cleanup organized by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) in Ilocos Norte.
DENR joined forces with other government agencies, schools, and private groups to clean up a three-kilometer stretch of Cullili Point in Barangay Masintoc, Paoay.
Volunteers collected 122 sacks of waste, mostly food wrappers, plastic cups, plates, and beverage bottles.
The DENR reminded participants about proper waste disposal, emphasizing that unmanaged trash is a major cause of flooding across the country.
