Farmers in Maddela, Quirino were forced to leave 300 sacks of sweet potatoes by the road after the potatoes got soaked by continuous rain.
According to local farmers, the bad weather persisted for two days, causing the harvested sweet potatoes to emit a foul smell.
The sweet potatoes are a key source of income for residents, who process them into kamote chips for sale.
