Consumers trooped to the office of the National Irrigation Administration-Davao (NIA-11) in Davao City to buy rice sold at P29 per kilo.

In an interview with GMA Super Radyo Davao, NIA-11 senior irrigators development officer and contract farming focal, Rodel Maceda, said rice was sold at P29 per kilo since September 13, 2024.

Maceda said the 1,000 sacks of rice were all sold out on Monday, September 16.

He assured that the rice being sold was hybrid and of good quality. It came from Davao Oriental, Davao del Norte, and Davao de Oro.

Senior citizens, persons with disabilities (PWD), solo parent, and beneficiaries of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) are the priorities of the affordable rice.

NIA-11 added that announcement will be made when the office has another stocks of affordable rice.
