At least 15 families had to be evacuated after some parts of Davao City were flooded due to heavy rains evening on Sunday, September 8, 2024.
The heavy rains flooded some parts of Barangays Matina Crossing and Matina Aplaya.
The roads on Mc Arthur Highway were no longer visible as floodwaters rose.
Barangay Matina Aplaya conducted preemptive evacuation where 15 families were evacuated.
The families have returned to their homes when floodwaters subsided.
“Ang mga drainage, gagmay sab. So, sa kakusog sa ulan, so dili dayon masubside ang tubig. Nidagayday pa didto sa main drainage,” Barangay Matina Crossing Chairman, Joel Santes, said.
