Persistent rains and high tide have left residents in Barangay Poblacion Oeste, Dagupan City navigating through floodwaters, with no clear end in sight.

Residents of Sitio Macario are struggling with flooding due to delayed work on Don Martin Samson Road.

The flooding lasted for nearly four months, affecting 800 families.

"Malumot na. Hindi naman natin malinis agad kasi kaunting ulan lang, umaapaw na ang tubig sa may creek mismo," Barangay Chairman Mark Anthony Gutierrez said.

With 75 percent of the local population experiencing flooding, residents are forced to wade through the water daily.

"'Pag may baha, kung may sugat [delikado], ‘yung iba walang [pa na] bota," Charlene Zabala, a resident, said.

While the Barangay Health Center has enough medicine, Gutierrez advised residents to be cautious of diseases from floodwaters.

Despite the ongoing situation, no evacuations have been ordered.

Meanwhile, the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) continues to monitor other flooded areas in Dagupan.

Children were seen playing in the water in Barangay Tapuac, unaware of the potential health risks.

Floodwaters also slowed down vehicles as water levels reached the streets, making travel through the city difficult.
