Around 200 coconut seedlings were planted at the wind farm in Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte, as part of the local government's participation in National Coconut Week.
The initiative was part of the celebration of National Coconut Week and aims to enhance the area’s appeal to tourists.
Spanning 11 hectares, the new coconut plantation is envisioned to be more than just a site for sustainable energy production.
The local government plans to develop the area into an eco-tourism destination.
In addition to the coconut plantation, a Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) processing center is set to be established in the area.
