Troops from the U.S., South Korea, and the Philippines have come together to renovate an old feeding room at Legazpi Port Elementary School as part of the Pacific Partnership 2024 initiative.

The room is designated for the Department of Education's (DepEd) National Feeding Program, aimed at assisting undernourished students.

In addition to the construction work, the South Korean Navy has pledged to provide learning materials for the school. This project has been met with immense gratitude from the school, especially since it lacked funding for such improvements.

“Nagpapasalamat kami ng buong puso na sa pagiging mabait nila, mapagbigay, at sa lahat lahat na naicontribute nila sa project na ito,” Vergie Almodal, Principal of Legazpi Port Elementary School, said.

Lieutenant Adam Bossom of the U.S. Navy/Pacific Partnership Mission highlighted the positive experience working with the Philippine Army.

“All the FIlipino army, they are super skilled, super polite, super easy to work with… [for] the past week [that] I've been working with them doing some of the flushing, and so they have been teaching me some new skills,” Bossom said.
