Parents and students flocked to Mangaldan National High School on July 8, 2024 for the first day of enrollment for the 2024-2025 school year.

Many parents and students chose to enroll on the first day to avoid the hassle of long lines later on.

"First time [ng anak ko], hindi pa niya kabisado dito sa Manghi… masyadong malaki itong school," Raqueza Villena, a parent, said.

"Excited na excited kasi mag-Grade Seven na," Raiza de Guzman, an incoming Grade Seven, said.

Some enrollees experienced delays due to incomplete requirements such as birth certificates, Grade Six report cards, and diplomas.

"Pwede naman silang bumalik kasi diretso naman ang enrollment… [kung] kailan kumpleto [na ang requirements nila]," Minnie Gotomanga, a Grade Seven teacher, said.

The administration of Mangaldan National High School expects to register over 8,000 learners for the upcoming school year, similar to last year’s enrollment.

Principal Eduardo Castillo said the number of classrooms will not be an issue.

"Inaasahan na kahit sa unang linggo ng pasukan, mayroon pa ring mangilan-mangilan na magpapatala, ‘yun ay i-enroll pa rin natin," he said.

Enrollment in Mangaldan National High School will continue until July 12.
