The National Commission on Indigenous People (NCIP) has facilitated aid to 12 families of the Manide Indigenous Cultural Community in Barangay Macogon, Labo, Camarines Norte.
The aid includes food packs and essential school supplies for Manide students.
The NCIP said they are open to facilitate help for the indigenous community but it is important to follow policies when engaging with the community.
The Manide is the oldest tribe in the Bicol Region and a relative of the Agta or Aeta.
According to the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) they call themselves “Kabihug” while their language is called "Manide."
