Miss K and Papa Yohan join award-winning team of Barangay LS Forever

Barangay LS Forever, the number one and award-winning FM station in the country, is beefing up its talented roster of disk jocks with the addition of Miss K and Papa Yohan.

Miss K, or Khaye Selda in real life, will be the host of Goodnight Philippines on Barangay LS. Meanwhile, Papa Yohan, whose real name is Ron Mark E. Perez, will join the funny duo of Lady Gracia and Papa Ace in their popular program Talk to Papa.

In an exclusive interview with GMANetwork.com, the newest Kabarangay DJs talked about their thoughts about being part of the Barangay LS.

Miss K said, “I feel honored and blessed now na part na ako ng LS family, ng NUMBER ONE FM Radio Station sa Mega Manila. Both nakaka-pressure and happy at the same time. Nakaka-pressure dahil, syempre, number one na ‘yan, e, dapat ma-maintain namin pero happy pa rin naman kasi mga sikat at magagaling na DJs ang makakatrabaho ko. At ‘yong dating pinapakinggan ko lang nung bata pa ako, ngayon makakatrabaho ko na. Chareng!

“Grateful din ako kasi matututo ka talaga sa mga shine-share nilang experiences, tips, and na e-educate ka nila lalo.”

Papa Yohan echoed what Miss K said and added that he felt at home in the Kapuso FM station.

“Sobrang grateful at masaya ako ngayon na officially part na ako ng Barangay LS 97.1 family! Feeling ko, I'm home na. Ang excitement at pressure, pareho silang andyan, pero mas lamang ang excitement kasi alam kong makakasama ko ang mga taong passionate sa music at entertainment.”

Miss K, who is also known as the “Prinsesa ng Barangay,” take this opportunity to learn and hone her knowledge about the radio industry.

She told GMANetwork.com, “Excited akong matuto nang matuto ng mga bagay-bagay here sa radio industry para marami akong bala at magamit sa pag-improve ng aking programa. Looking forward din ako sa future self ko. I know I will never be the same again dahil sa tulong ng binibigay ng LS team. Also, nakaabang na ako sa additional knowledge na matutunan ko pa habang ginagawa ko ‘yong passion ko: ang pag dadaldal!”

With his monicker as “Tagapayo ng Barangay," Papa Yohan wants to use this platform as a Kapuso DJ to provide “guidance” and “inspiration” to their listeners.

“Bilang 'Tagapayo ng Barangay,' it’s a great honor na makakapagbigay ako ng kahit konting guidance sa mga nangangailangan, at sana saya na rin, inspirasyon, at good vibes sa mga listeners ng Barangay LS.” Papa Yohan said.

He continued, “I'm looking forward to working with the team, learning from them, at mag-grow together. Salamat sa pagtanggap sa akin, Barangay LS family! Handa na akong ibigay ang 101% ko!”

Meanwhile, two seasoned hosts of Barangay LS Forever offered advice to the newbies joining their family.

Barangay Love Stories host Papa Dudut reminded Miss K and Papa Yohan to relax while hosting their respective programs.

“Nararamdaman ng listeners, ng mga audience nila sa social media, ‘yung tense.

“Dapat 10 lang kayo, hindi tense. Dapat relax! At saka ‘pag nagbibigay kayo ng advice sa radio, insert kayo ng fun. Kasi, ‘yung mga nakikinig sa atin, problemado na yan. Kailangan incorporate mo ‘yung fun na ang problema, minsan puwede mo tawanan.”

Papa JT added that the newcomers in Barangay LS Forever are very qualified and deserve their spot.

“Have fun while on board, kasi ‘yun naman ‘yun pag masyado ka stress on board. Magre-resonate ‘yun e sa ere. So, kailangan enjoyin mo lang ‘yun and I believe that they are qualified enough to be part of the team so congratulations.”
