Kapuso AM and FM stations reign supreme in Mega Manila, widens Super Radyo programs' reach nationwide

Super Radyo DZBB 594 and Barangay LS 97.1, GMA Network’s flagship AM and FM stations, kept their stronghold as both remain Mega Manila’s top radio stations in their respective categories per Nielsen’s latest Radio Audience Measurement (RAM). 

In the July 2022 RAM data, Super Radyo DZBB 594 registered 38.5 percent audience share while its closest rival DZRH got 30.4 percent.

“Saksi sa Dobol B” emerged as the highest-performing program for the month. Anchored by GMA News pillar Mike Enriquez, the program provides the public with more information and insights about the latest stories and issues through interviews with key personalities.

Saksi sa Dobol B was followed by “Pinoy MD” and “Super Balita sa Umaga” as the top shows in July. These shows likewise bested all programs from other competing AM stations in their respective timeslots.

Moreover, DZBB widens the reach of its programs as the Saturday and Sunday editions of “Super Balita sa Umaga” (7 to 8 a.m.) and “Super Balita sa Tanghali” Saturday (11:30 a.m. to 12 nn) are now airing in multiple Super Radyo stations nationwide in Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Palawan, General Santos (GenSan), and Kalibo. 

Weekday programs of "Super Balita sa Umaga" (7 to 8 a.m.) as well as “Super Balita sa Tanghali” (11:30 am to 12:30 pm) are simulcast in Super Radyo Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Palawan, and GenSan.

“Super Balita Sa Gabi” (10 to 10:30 p.m.), meanwhile, are now simulcast Mondays to Fridays in Super Radyo stations in Cebu, Davao and Iloilo. 

One of its newest programs, "SumasaPuso" hosted by Toni Aquino, is likewise simulcast in Super Radyo Davao, Iloilo, Palawan, GenSan, and Kalibo on Saturdays (1 to 3 p.m.). It is also simulcast in Davao, Palawan, GenSan, and Kalibo on Sundays (12 nn to 3 p.m.).

Similarly, Barangay LS 97.1 Forever! posted a dominant 40.5 percent audience share in July. With Barangay LS taking the lion’s share in FM listenership, its nearest competition, 90.7 Love Radio, only managed to get 10.3 percent. The Kapuso FM station’s total reach also continued to grow this month with 7 million.

The morning and afternoon blocks were both the main ratings drivers for the station this month. Consistently number one across all FM programs, “Barangay Love Stories” hosted by Papa Dudut also remained as the station’s highest rating show. “Talk to Papa,” “Potpot & Friends,” “Songbook,” and “Forever Request” also made it to the list of top programs in the said month.
