GMA Pictures and GMA Public Affairs' highly anticipated film, Green Bones, has officially wrapped up filming! Primetime action star Ruru Madrid took to Instagram to share candid behind-the-scenes photos to celebrate the special camaraderie formed on set. The pictures featured the cast and crew enjoying their time together in a group shot and some personal moments with Ruru’s co-stars and the film’s award-winning director, Zig Dulay. Green Bones is part of this year’s much-anticipated lineup for the 50th Metro Manila Film Festival. Created by the team behind the 2023 MMFF Best Picture winner, Firefly, the film is produced by GMA Pictures, GMA Public Affairs, and Brightburn Entertainment. The inspirational-drama movie is directed by Zig Dulay and written by Ricky Lee and Anj Atienza. Aside from the Philippines, the highly-anticipated 2024 movie 'Hello, Love, Again' starring Alden Richards and Kathryn Bernardo will be shown worldwide almost at the same time as its Philippine premiere on November 13. At the time of writing, 'Hello, Love, Again' will be shown in over 15 countries and territories worldwide in November 2024. Alden and Kathryn will also grace special screenings in the United States, Canada, and the United Arab Emirates. Star Cinema and GMA Pictures created international posters tailored for each country where it would be shown. 'Hello, Love, Again' continues the story of Ethan and Joy as they reunite in Canada, five years after their separation in Hong Kong. When they met in Canada, it seemed that Joy had already assumed a new name to represent her new "version"-- Marie. In the first movie 'Hello, Love, Goodbye,' Ethan and Joy met in Hong Kong as struggling overseas Filipino workers who were trying to find their place and their purpose in the country. While they truly love each other, their romance did not have a chance to blossom further when Joy chooses to pursue her dreams in Canada as a nurse. At the recent 50th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) event, Green Bones was officially announced as one of the featured films in this highly anticipated movie festival. GMA Network's First Vice President for GMA Public Affairs and Executive Vice President for GMA Pictures, Nessa Valdellon, attended the announcement and happily introduced the soon-released inspiring drama film. During the event, Green Bones unveiled its first teaser video, offering a glimpse into its inspiring narrative. The teaser highlights Dennis Trillo's character, a person deprived of liberty (PDL); together with Ruru Madrid, Wendell Ramos, and Michael de Mesa as prison officers. Directed by Zig Dulay and written by Ricky Lee and Anj Atienza, Green Bones explores themes of hope and resilience in dark times. In addition to the featured cast, celebrities like Alessandra De Rossi, Iza Calzado, Kylie Padilla, and Sienna Stevens are also part of the film. Alden Richards and Kathryn Bernardo officially kicked off their nationwide tour ahead of the premiere night of their movie, 'Hello, Love, Again.' On Saturday, October 5, Alden and Kathryn went to Ayala Malls Solenad in Nuvali for the official poster launch of their movie. The 'Hello, Love, Again' poster showed Ethan and Joy happily walking in the streets of Canada, although there is a gap between them. "Medyo similar siya 'no? Dito sa first poster ng 'Hello, Love, Goodbye,' but this time, siyempre iba. Marami silang aabangan, bakit nga ba 'Joy is gone?'" Kathryn said after the unveiling of the poster. Alden added, "Alam ko po marami sa inyo nagtanong after nung teaser, 'Ano'ng nangyari? What happened to Joy and Ethan? Ano'ng nangyari sa kanilang relationship? The digitally restored and remastered version of Jose Rizal had its gala screening at the historic Manila Metropolitan Theatre as part of the 20th Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival. The screening was attended by Cesar Montano, who portrayed the titular hero in the movie. Other celebrities present were Gloria Diaz, Pen Medina, and Dennis Marasigan who now serves as the artistic director of the Cultural Center of the Philippines. After the film showing, Cesar could not help but shed tears as he watched the movie he made in 1998. "This movie was released about 26 years ago, 'di ko akalain na mapapa-iyak pa rin ako, e. Sobra, sobrang ganda. Maganda 'yung pagkakagawa, napaka-genius talaga ng pagkaka-direct nitong movie," he said. "Sayang, ako natutuwa ako because of this newly-restored movie, nalulungkot din ako dahil sana nandidito si Direk Marilou na na-witness niya 'tong restoration na 'to." The family of the late movie director, Marilou Diaz-Abaya, was also in attendance. Before the start of the screening, Marc spoke in front of the jam-packed crowd. He said, "Sa ngalan ni Marilou Diaz-Abaya, nagpapasalamat po kaming pamilya niya na ni-restore po ng GMA Films ang isa sa masterpieces ni Direk Marilou." "A good story is a good story. Period. A good story can become a great story depending on how you tell the story. Sa case na ito, nasa larangan ng pelikula driven by the passion, the devotion, the hardwork of the filmmakers, the actors, everybody that is part of the filmmaking process. "I'm very curious to see what GMA Films has done but I know and I'm grateful to GMA Films for making one of my mother's greatest films accessible to this generation and to future generations." National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts Ricky Lee, who was one of the writers of the film alongside Jun Robles Lana and Peter Ong Lim, said that he was having mixed emotions at the screening. "Masaya akong malungkot ngayong hapon na ito. Masaya dahil na-restore itong 'Jose Rizal' at mas marami nang makakapanood, nalulungkot ako dahil wala si Marilou," Sir Ricky said. The lead cast of GMA Pictures and Viva Films' upcoming movie 'Playtime' faced members of the media during the film's press conference held at Fin & Claw Grill in Quezon City on Saturday, June 1. Sanya Lopez, Coleen Garcia, Faye Lorenzo, and Xian Lim shared their experience working with each other on 'Playtime,' directed by esteemed director Mark Reyes. Faye, who worked with Coleen and Xian for the first time, recalled a funny story she had with Sanya at the movie's story conference. She recalled, "Nakikipag-change seat ako [kay Sanya]. Kasi nung storycon namin, nandito ako, si Sanya, and then si Xian. Last dumating si Coleen, so nung dadating na siya, tatabi siya sa akin. Malayo pa lang, pagkakita ko sa kaniya, sabi ko talaga kay Sanya, 'Sanya, palit tayo ng upuan, baka English 'to, e.' Emotions were high as GMA personalities came together to witness the advance screening of 'Firefly,' GMA Network's official entry to the 49th Metro Manila Film Festival. Firefly stars Alessandra De Rossi, Euwenn Mikaell, Miguel Tanfelix, Ysabel Ortega, Cherry Pie Picache, Epy Quizon, Yayo Aguila, and Max Collins showcased their elegant outfits on the blue carpet at the event held at SM North Edsa, Quezon City. GMA Public Affairs personalities Jessica Soho, Kara David, and Atom Araullo also graced the advance screening of Firefly. After watching the movie first-hand, Jessica couldn't help but sing praises while Kara admitted she felt emotional because of the heartfelt story. Jessica said, "Naiyak ako. Ang simple nung istorya pero napakapowerful. It just tells you na a story can be so powerful. Pinakita rin ng pelikula sa akin the power of a dream, aside from the power of a good story and good storytelling, ang lesson din is the power of a dream." "Dapat never let go of your dreams, at tsaka, hindi dapat manatili sa dilim ang mga bagay bagay. There is light at the end of the everything." Kara commended, "Beautiful, beautiful film. Firefly, GMA Network's official entry to the 2023 Metro Manila Film Festival, released its full trailer at a special screening held at SM North Edsa Director's Club on November 29. Alessandra De Rossi, Euwenn Mikaell, Miguel Tanfelix, and Ysabel Ortega came together to support the release of the two-and-a-half-minute preview of the film with their director Zig Dulay. Alessandra, who stars in the movie as Elay, described the trailer of the film as "magical." She said, "Alam ko kung bata ako at this moment, magsasabi ako ng, 'Mama, manood tayo niyan!' It's been so long na nakakita tayo ulit ng ganitong pelikula na pambata at bata mismo 'yung bida." Euwenn, who portrays Elay's son Tonton who searches for the mythical island of fireflies, almost got emotional after watching the trailer. He said, "Naiisip ko po kung gaano kaganda 'yung full movie po. 'Pag napanood ko po nang buo, baka mapaiyak ko rin po 'yung sarili ko." GMA Pictures Senior Vice President and GMA Public Affairs First Vice President Nessa Valdellon and Firefly creator and writer, GMA Public Affairs Assistant Vice President Anj Atienza, also attended the event. Kapuso Action-Drama Prince Ruru Madrid received a compliment from Yassi Pressman, his co-star in Viva Films and GMA Pictures newest offering titled 'Video City.' During the show's press conference, Yassi related instance when she felt very tired and Ruru was there to encourage her. "Meron po kaming isang time na, siguro medyo pagod na rin kami, galing din po kami sa iba pang mga trabaho, while shooting this movie, mahaba po 'yung mga lines madalas, kaya kailangan snappy ka. Hindi ka pwedeng inaantok, hindi ka pwedeng pagod. And alam ko po na pagod rin po siya noon." Yassi recalled that they were shooting a scene when she felt that her body could not take it anymore. Luckily for her, Ruru was there to support her and inspired her to finish the sequence. "Meron pong time na pabagsak na ako sa pagod, 'tapos umuulan, sabi ko, 'Parang nararamdaman ko na na medyo napapagod na ako.' Sabi niya, 'Kaya mo 'yan.' Hindi 'yung 'Ako rin, e, pagod rin ako.' Alam mo 'yun? "So, 'yung feeling ko with that partnership, siyempre, hindi kayo laging nasa taas all the time na kayang-kaya niyo, pero 'yung suportahan na hindi ka niya hahayaang bumagsak, 'yun po 'yung pinakana-appreciate ko rin kay Ruru. "That is Ruru all the way be it nasa likod ng kamera o nasa harap." 'Video City' will be showing in cinemas nationwide beginning September 20.
