GMA Pictures announces collaboration with Dennis Trillo and Jennylyn Mercado's Brightburn Entertainment

More thrilling news has just been revealed for Green Bones, the much-awaited entry in the Metro Manila Film Festival 2024 (MMFF) starring Dennis Trillo and Ruru Madrid.
GMA Pictures shared that the upcoming film will be a collaborative project between the Kapuso network and the newly established Brightburn Entertainment, owned by none other than Kapuso couple Jennylyn Mercado and Green Bones lead star, Dennis Trillo.
Thrilled to be part of the big film production, the Kapuso couple shared how it felt like a dream come true to work with GMA Pictures.
“The timing was just perfect and everything just fell into place. We want our first project to be captivating, well thought out, and something that will surely leave a mark on viewers and that’s exactly what Green Bones is all about,” shared Dennis.
Jennylyn added, “This is such a dream project to be part of. The script was beautifully written. Reading it alone already made us think and made us feel a lot of things. On top of that, GMA Pictures and GMA Public Affairs put together such an amazing team led by direk Zig Dulay,” Jennylyn said.
Both artists expressed gratitude as well to GMA Senior Vice President Annette Gozon-Valdes and GMA Pictures Executive Vice President Nessa Valdellon for allowing them to be part of the awaited film.
“We owe it all to Ms Annette who opened the doors for us. We pitched the idea of co-producing Green Bones and she immediately said yes,” Dennis expressed.
“We also thank Ms Nessa and her team as well for casting Dennis in this project. They have been very collaborative with us despite us being newbie producers and we are learning a lot in the process,” Jennylyn shared.
Green Bones received a surge of support from netizens after being selected as an official entry in the 50th MMFF, with many expressing their excitement for this inspirational drama.
GMA Pictures also dropped its first teaser video online, which gained significant praise from fans.
The film, produced by the same team behind MMFF 2023 Best Picture winner Firefly, is directed by Zig Dulay and written by Ricky Lee and Anj Atienza. Furthermore, GMA Pictures has secured a deal with Columbia Pictures for the local theatrical distribution of the movie through the Sony Pictures Releasing International label.
This inspirational drama follows the story of Dennis Trillo’s character, a person deprived of liberty (PDL), alongside Ruru Madrid, Wendell Ramos, and Michael de Mesa as prison officers. In addition to the main cast, notable celebrities such as Alessandra De Rossi, Iza Calzado, Kylie Padilla, and Sienna Stevens are also in the film.
