GMA Pictures' 'Green Bones' among 5 MMFF movies this 2024

GMA Pictures and GMA Public Affairs will be producing another Metro Manila Film Festival movie titled Green Bones starring Dennis Trillo and Sofia Pablo.

Green Bones was one of the five announced films based on scripts submission for the 50th edition of the festival, which will be held in December.

The story of Green Bones is by JC Rubio, a senior documentary manager of GMA Public Affairs.

The screenplay was written by National Artist for Films and Broadcast Arts Ricky Lee, and 2023 MMFF Best Screenplay winner Anj Atienza.

Green Bones will be directed by Zig Dulay, who currently directs GMA Prime series Widows' War. He also directed the 2023 MMFF Best Picture Firefly, produced by GMA Pictures and GMA Public Affairs.

The four other movies announced during the press conference were And The Breadwinner Is starring Vice Ganda and Eugene Domingo; Strange Frequencies: Haunted Hospital starring Jane de Leon and Enrique Gil; Himala Isang Musikal starring Aicelle Santos and Bituin Escalante; and The Kingdom starring Vic Sotto and Piolo Pascual.

The five other entries based on finished films submission will be chosen on September 30.

For its 50th edition, the Parade of Stars will be on December 15 while the Gabi ng Parangal will be held on December 27.
