'Firefly' to premiere in Dubai on January 17

Firefly, produced by GMA Pictures and GMA Public Affairs, will have its special premiere night in the United Arab Emirates tonight, January 17.

Firefly, which won the Best Picture award at the 49th Metro Manila Film Festival, will be shown at the Star Cinemas in Al Ghurair Centre tonight at 7:30 P.M. (UAE time).

Firefly will be shown in cinemas across the United Arab Emirates starting tomorrow, January 18. It will be shown in the following cinemas:

Firefly tells the story of Tonton (Euwenn Mikaell) and his journey as he finds the mythical island of fireflies based on his mother, Elay's (Alessandra De Rossi), bedtime stories.
 
Along the way, Tonton meets three strangers -- Billy (Miguel Tanfelix), Erika (Ysabel Ortega), and Mang Louie (Epy Quizon) -- who will either help him or hinder his quest.
 
Also part of the ensemble cast are Cherry Pie Picache, Yayo Aguila, and Kokoy De Santos, with the special participation of Max Collins and Dingdong Dantes.
 
Directed by Zig Dulay, Firefly also won Best Original Screenplay for Angeli Atienza and Best Child Performer for Euwenn at the 49th Metro Manila Film Festival.
