How did RJ Padilla pull off a role in a suspense-thriller movie?

Since his father Rommel and uncle Robin are two of the most sought after names in Philippine action genre, was it difficult for RJ Padilla to deviate from that image for the suspense-thriller ‘Basement’?
“Medyo nahirapan ako sa horror,” the young actor admitted.
Admittedly, the suspense/horror genre is new to him but that didn’t stop him from putting his best foot forward, learning what he can and having the most fun.
It was an honor for him to be part of such project because of the creativity and hard work it took to finish conceptualizing, filming and editing the movie.
“Siguradong magugulat kayo dito. Ang galing ng pagkagawa dito,” he said.
Sobrang nakaka-surprise,” he added.
For RJ, there’s no wrong time for a suspense-thriller movie, even during the Valentine’s season.
