Peso averaging P51.45:$1 during midday trade


The US dollar on Friday midday trade was dealing between P51.40 and P51.495 with a weighted average of P51.457. The Philippine peso opened at P51.40, the same value as Thursday’s close. Meanwhile, share prices fell down on its last trading session for the week. Phisix retreated 6.40 points or .3034 percent at 2, 103.37. The broader all shares index was dipped 3.72 points or .2865 percent. Financials, Holding firms and Services sub-indices were also down while Industrial, Property and Mining & oil sub-indicators advanced. Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company was the most active which closed at P15 or 0.83 percent at 1,800. First Gen Corporation was the second most active, closing at P0.50 at 44.50, on 2.24 million per share. Ayala Land Incorporated advanced P0.25 at 10.75. SM Prime Holdings rose P0.10 to 7.70. San Miguel B-shares were up P0.50 at 80 while San Miguel A-shares closed P61.50.-GMANews.TV
