Cuba hit by earthquake; GFZ measures magnitude at 6.6


An earthquake in the Cuba region on Sunday has risen to a magnitude of 6.6, the German Research Center for Geosciences (GFZ) said.

The quake was at a depth of 10 km (6.2 miles), GFZ said. The earthquake was earlier measured at a magnitude of 5.8.

The US National Tsunami Warning Center said there was no tsunami threat expected as a result of this quake. — Reuters
